Comeback für echte Kerle!

Ja, jetzt ist es so weit. Das, was ich bin, ist nicht mehr gut genug. Ich werde zum Auslaufmodell. Sei einfach du selbst? Nein, besser das Gegenteil.

Ich habe jahrelang versucht, nicht erwachsen zu werden. So wie diese Male-Models auf den Laufstegen oder Stilvorbilder aus den angesagten TV-Shows. Immer glatt, immer jugendlich, immer hip, ja fast schon androgyn. Schließlich sieht so der Mann von heute aus. Aber das war gestern. Ich habe jeden Morgen gegen meinen Bartwuchs gekämpft und muss nn erschrocken feststellen, disen Krieg gewonnen zu haben.

"Gesichtsbehaarung ist ein Antörner" erklärt US-Schauspielerin Chloe Sevigny im US-amerikanischen Playboy. Mein Gesichtsflaum gehört wohl eher nicht dazu. Auch die Laufstege werden wieder wilder. Jüngst marschierte David Gandy für Dolce&Gabbana durch Mailand. Gandy war einer der Bestbezahltesten seines Fachs, als Männermodels noch richtige Männer darstellten. Lange her und lange überwunden. Dachte ich. Die Meinungsmacher, vornehmlich aus der Modeindustrie, haben aber entschieden, das neue alte Bild vom kernigen Holzfäller erneut zum Schönheitsideal auszurufen. Und das wird wohl früher oder später auf unsere Generation zurückfallen. Echte Kerle sollen wir wieder sein. Groß, stark, schmutzig und bestimmend. Während die äußeren Merkmale vielleicht von einigen relativ schnell wieder hergestellt werden können, ist letzteres ein wirkliches Problem. Da auch die Evolution in der rasanten Medienwelt scheinbar einen Gang hochgeschaltet hat, sind wir zu weichen, entscheidungslosen Hipster-Bübchen geworden. Es wird Generationen dauern, diesen genetischen Schaden zu beheben und wieder zum Mann zu werden.

Da hilft wahrscheinlich nur eins: die Radikalkur. Rasierer und Pinzette in den Müll, die kleine Hantelbank von früher wieder vom Speicher holen, neue Klamotten kaufen und Mamas Mascara im Schrank wegschließen - oder direkt ausziehen? Ne, ganz so radikal dann lieber doch nicht. Ich repariere jetzt erst einmal die lockere Schranktür in meinem Kinderzimmer. Wie ein richtiger Kerl das macht.

You know this? Your head turns out so much chaos, a real farrago, but this is the beginning of creating something very beautiful. But finally, the best things are those, which seemed to be almost impossible... Isn't it?

weird technology.

I'm looking forward to the day, when I'll be able to scan my sketches. And my photos. And all those things I create every day, usually analogue.
I was living in Paris you know (photos later I promise), a few weeks (or probably months?) ago I moved to Berlin, and that's where I'm working right now. There's a big input and I really want to show you some results but, you know, ain't no damn technology.

But I created a logo for a holiday house at the baltic sea. Nothing special, nothing illustrative, but something to show.

Obsessions everywhere.

Obsessive communication...everywhere, it drives me crazy, I promise. Often I create something and of course it has a meaning, but I draw and photograph in order to NOT USE language (in general) and so I'm tired of explaining the sense to all those art profs at the university. I'm sure that one of them would say, that this one is superficial, naive, white-bread and so on. But I got my art college place in Berlin yet, so I'm free to create "superficial" things like that. Haha.

spark of summer.

Probably, I was quite productive this weekend. There was a spark of summer yesterday, when I sat in my car driving in a southward direction.
